After reviewing over 40 quality proposals and narrowing the field to 5, we’ve successfully kicked off 5 projects designed to deliver tangible benefit to to the agricultural development community before the end of 2009. Inclusion of these projects in the AGCommons Program helps the program stay focused on real-world application of the technologies and interventions we’re planning. They also accelerate the timeline for AGCommons to deliver real value to farmers and will field-prove technologies that could be scaled out during AGCommons Phase 2.
We’re pleased to be working with a number of research organizations, foundations and private organizations to deliver these projects. The selected projects represent a broad geographic representation across Africa and focus on various parts of the agro value chain from input systems to field-productivity to crop transport road networks.
Summaries of each project and regular blog posts from the project implementers are available on this blog.
