Implementing Organization: CGIAR
This project will address the efficiency gap in interaction among farmers, national program agronomists, and crop improvement researchers by creating a pilot network of testing sites that link cultivar developers, local-level researchers, agronomists and the farmers in Africa.
The network will be a sort of “mash-up” of on-going work to improve beans, maize, cowpea and sorghum in sub-Saharan Africa. ICRISAT, CIMMYT, IITA and CIAT maintain contacts and trial sites in Africa to test improved cultivars.
